Deer are the ruminant mammals forming the family Cervidae. There are six Species found wild in the UK are Red, Roe, Fallow, Sika , Muntjac and Chinese Water Deer. Only Red Deer and Roe Deer are truly indigenous. In addition to our wild deer there is also a herd of Reindeer in Scotland and while managed and cared for they are free ranging on the Cairngorm mountains.
