During Storm Arwen the damage in Scotland and Northumberland was extensive; thousands of trees were blown down destroying vast areas of woodland. Many trees came down blocking roads and onto power lines disrupting power to some areas for over a week. Many homes suffered serious damage having chimneys blown down and roofs blown off.
This yacht was one of the more bizarre sights after the storm, the force of the wind and tide broke this yacht from its mooring on the River Tweed and it was washed up high onto the river bank, where it sat for about a week until there was a high enough tide to refloat it and take it into the safety of Berwick Harbour.
